Music and the Arts

The primary purpose of the music and arts ministry is to support the corporate worship life of First Baptist Church. There are several opportunities for you to use your gifts and talents within the music and arts ministry.
Worship Team
This group provides musical leadership for the 9:00 AM Sunday morning contemporary worship service. We rehearse each Wednesday evening at 7:45 PM in the sanctuary. If you play an instrument or are a vocalist, this may be a place of service for you.
Worship Choir
This ensemble provides the musical support for the Sunday morning 10:30 classic worship service. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings (September-May) at 6:30 PM in the sanctuary. You do not necessarily have to read music to participate with this group, although it helps! We rehearse a variety of anthems each week, which means that we rehearse an anthem several weeks before singing the selection in worship.
Preschool and Children's Choirs
These two groups meet each Sunday evening at 6:00 PM (September-May). Each week, children learn basic musical skills, spiritual truths, singing skills, and psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.
Media Team
For each worship service, volunteers help with audio and video support. If you enjoy working with live sound or operating worship presentation software, please consider volunteering in this area.
Arts
We are still growing and learning how to incorporate the arts in worship. If you are skilled in drama, painting, graphic design, photography, dance, sewing, or some other medium that we have not even listed, let us know about your talents and gifts and your desire to serve in this area.
Northland Senior Adult Choir
First Baptist Church sponsors this group, which meets on Wednesdays at 11:00 AM. There are approximately 40 singers in this group, representing several different churches and denominations. This group works on a musical project in the fall and spring of each year.
