Building Bridges is an intentional season of spiritual renewal. During this season, we are being called to reflect the generous heart of God in ministry, mission and sacrificial giving. Over the last ninety-five years, God has indeed done amazing things through His people at First Baptist Church, North Kansas City. We experienced incredible harvest in 2010 as we were blessed with 38 baptisms! The good news is, the best is yet to come.
God has been faithful in the past, He is blessing us in the present, and He is calling us to a future of promise. God is faithful and keeps His promises. The question is, “Will we be faithful in participating joyfully and sacrificially in the future God has for us?” We believe God has a meaningful mission and vibrant vision for First Baptist Church. We are strategically located in the heart of metro Kansas City and thus have a unique calling to be a bridge connecting the gracious heart of God to the needs of human souls. From uptown to downtown, from midtown to across town, from north of the river to south of the river, First Baptist Church, North Kansas City is a bridge to God. The bridges extend even further to impact lives in Mexico, Southeast Asia, Africa, central and southern Europe and more.
The more lives we impact, the more those lives impact us. We have become urgently aware of the need to fully equip ourselves for the “mission trip” that is life at First Baptist. God is calling us to “Building Bridges.” Building Bridges is like a revival, an intentional season of spiritual renewal where we commit to live and give as a reflection of God’s generosity.
Throughout the next two years, we plan on spiritual renewal. Our encounter with God will inspire accelerated giving resulting in mission expansion. One of life’s greatest joys is to sacrifice something good in order to achieve something better. Similarly, profound joy results from sacrificing something we want in order to bless someone we love with their heart’s desire. What would it look like for you and your family to sacrifice something you want in order to give God what He wants? Will you sacrifice today’s good for tomorrow’s best?
